what is ethical?
To us being ethical means that we put respecting people and the environment first.
Our clothes are designed to be treasured and worn for years, rather than for brief seasons and then discarded.
Natural fleece from well-managed farms is a sustainable fibre, not prone to environmental damage associated with synthetic sources or the destruction of indigenous vegetation, pesticide and water usage found in many cotton and soya plantations.
We use yarns farmed in the UK because they're local - reducing road miles and therefore carbon emissions - and because environmental, farming and social protection standards are among the highest in the world.
As far as possible we offer undyed and natural vegetable dyed options in all our collections beside other colours.
We commission work from well-run factories and freelance workers as locally as possible.
